eye-fi, a Wi-Fi Memory Card for your Digital Camera
My parents are always fussing that I never upload pictures of their granddaughter fast enough. I love taking pictures but often forget to remove the memory card from our digital camera , plug it into the card reader and upload the pictures to my Flickr Pro Account.
However that may all change soon. eye-Fi, a company based in Mountain View, California recently released a 2 GB Secure Digital flash card with built-in Wi-Fi for only $99.
"The Eye-Fi Card is a wireless memory card. It automatically uploads pictures from your digital camera to your PC or Mac and to your favorite photo sharing, printing, blogging or social networking site. No cables, no waiting, no hassles." - www.eye.fi
The company has partnered more than 15 photo-sharing and social networking websites to enable direct transfer including Facebook, SnapFish, Photobucket and of course Flickr.
The eye-fi stores pictures like any regular SD card and uploads your photos automatically as soon as you return to your home to your wireless network. Just turn the camera on! Sounds easy…. maybe one will show up under the tree this Christmas!
